Darlington Fire Station's new Community Safety Centre was officially opened by the Rt Hon Alan Milburn MP today.

County Durham and Darlington Fire Authority invested over £340,000 in the new community safety facilities at the fire station in the centre of Darlington. The Fire Service is keen to bring more Darlington residents, young people and partners into the station to strengthen community safety, improve local communications and broaden the range of work it does in partnership with other agencies to improve the health and wellbeing of those who live in and around the town.
