At the launch of One Darlington : Perfectly Placed on Thursday 17 July, Alan Milburn was presented with a copy of the new Sustainable Community Strategy by Alasdair MacConachie, Chairman of Darlington Partnership and John Williams, Leader of Darlington Council.

One Darlington : Perfectly Placed is a vision for the next ten years and aims to give everyone in the borough a better quality of life.

The plan, produced by Darlington Partnership, was put together following extensive consultation with residents and groups from across the borough and has two clear priorities:

One Darlington is about people - making sure that everyone in the borough has the same opportunities and high quality of life, regardless of fwhere they live or how much they earn.

Perfectly Placed is about place – generating high standards of living through investment and caring for the environment.
 
The strategy has five sections: prosperous Darlington; aspiring Darlington; healthy Darlington; greener Darlington; and safer Darlington, which together create an inspiring vision for the future.
