   Darlington discussion
Darlington Town ClockI have been MP for Darlington since 1992. I entered politics to change things for the better. For more than 15 years, I have campaigned for Darlington's residents on the issues that matter most to local people, such as toughening the murder laws, winning back Darlington's industrial grants and achieving the council's independence from County Durham.

I am proud to have helped thousands of residents sort out their problems and recently, I have been particularly pleased with the resources I have helped to secure to improve schools and regenerate many of the poorest parts of the town.

I continue to work closely with community organisations, trades unions and employers to secure greater prosperity for the town but would be interested to hear from you directly so please share your thoughts and suggestions by adding a comment below.

Welcome back to the internet Alan - this is an impressive site, and I particularly like the map showing precisely where you've been working for local residents around the town recently. I'm sure these interactive features will attract a lot of interest too, as will your blog. Keep up the good work!
